SCULPTOR Marko Gugić, Stipin, was born on November 21, 1951 in Sinj   (Radošic), where he finished elementary school and technical secondary   school. He then specialized in metal working at the Technical School Centre   in Split (5th grade) and worked for a while at SPLIT shipyard and 10 years at   "Jadranska željezara" (steel works).
  He lived with his family in Split and Kaštela (The Vitturi castle) and than has   settled in Klis, with both his living and working premisses.
  - 1974 - exhibits for the first time in public.
  - 1982 - becomes a member of HULU Split (Croatian Association of Visual   Artists)
  - since 1986 - enjoys the status of an independent artist as a member of the   Croatian Independent Artists Union in Zagreb
  - 1997 - becomes the member of HDLU Zagreb (Croatian Society of Visual   Artists).
 
Until today he staged 17 one-man exhibitions of sculptures carved in wood,   stone, metal and combined techniques. He participated in about hundred   paneled exhibitions, public invitations for tenders, humanitarian campaigns   and in the work of the visual artists' collonies. He is the author of many   public projects of church interiors and exteriors, book designs, awards and   diplomas, medallions, coats of arms and trade marks, and the winner of a   number of awards and honors.
